Hello to Everyone, I would like to say a big thank you to the Mackay Sugarloafers for donating $250.00 for Teagan Schneider towards her expenses. Hopefully Teagan will make a speedy recovery and we wish her all the best for now and the future.
On the Move Focus on Floors have moved a few shops down into a bigger premises, we hope the move wasn’t to stressing for we all know how much fun it is to move. So come down and have a look at the new range of designer floors and designer rugs they have. Also they have a larger range of vinyls and carpets for indoor and outdoor.
Show Ball Cancelled Due to lack of numbers and volunteers this year Show Ball was cancelled. Which is a real pity due to the ball being the main fundraiser for the Chamber.
Breakfast Meeting The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 21st
of July at the P.O.W. (Prince of Wales) at 7.00am. So come along and have your
say, we will be setting a date for the Annual General Meeting. If you would like
to run for a position on the committee, remember you must be a financial member
to be able to vote or nominate.
Old Time B.B.Que. The Guardian are having a Meet & Greet after
hours B.B.Que on the 29th
July `04, starting at 5.30pm at the Guardians Office. R.S.V.P. is the 15th
July `04. This is essential for other associations are also involved. If you
could phone the Chamber and let me know.
MEMBERSHIPS FOR THE FINANCIAL YEAR ARE NOW DUE. YOU MUST BE A PAID UP MEMBER TO BE ABLE TO VOTE AND NOMINATE FOR THIS YEARS CHAMBER COMMITTEE.
What’s On *Don’t forget about the Sunday Markets at Pioneer Park every third Sunday from 8.00am till noon.
* and Craft Expo will be held on the 23rd
& 24th July `04, at the Cultural Centre. Starting at 9.00am –
4.00pm. Cost - $2.00. So come along and have a look. All paintings and crafts
are done by local people. This Expo is ran by the E.S.A.( Alpha Epsiplon Branch
) *Xmas
in July will be held at the Cultural Centre on the 17th July
`04.Tickets are $50.00 which includes a three course meal, cocktail and nibbles
on arrival. All proceeds to go to the Palative Care Ward at Proserpine Hospital. *Commerce
Qld have a number of Seminars if anyone is interested please contact the
Chamber. Work Place Harassment Seminar ; Wednesday 14th July `04,
10.00am – 12 noon. R.S.V.P. – 13th July `04. A forum will be
held on the Qld Senior Certificate at Mackay on the 26th July `04,
starting at 10.30am – 12.30pm to be held at the Holy Spirit College *McDonald’s
at Airlie Beach are conducting a fundraising program for seriously ill and
special needs children. If you would like to purchase a Corporate Helping Hand
you can contact Jessica Lamb on 4946-5617. *The
PCYC at Mackay are asking for businesses to donate money towards the World
Festival of Magic Show, for the terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged kids
the cost per child and caregivers is $66.00. We would be grateful if you could
support them with one of the following; 10 children $330.00, 12 children
$396.00, 14 children $462.00 *Annual
Whitsunday Wedding Expo will be held on the 22nd of August `04, at
the Cannonvale Reef Gateway. Starting at 10.00am till 3.00pm, cost will be a
$2.00 entry fee. So if you are thinking about getting hitched come along and get
some great ideas for that special day.
RESIGNATION
Due to an increase of work commitments, Jack will be
resigning from the Chamber as President. The Executive Committee has decided to
hold the AGM in early August. This is the opportunity for those of you to be
part of the next Executive Committee. Please come along to the next Breakfast
meeting at the POW as details of the AGM will be put forward. These details and
nomination particulars will be made public after this date. NOW is the time to
be part of the leadership of the Proserpine Chamber of Commerce. YOU MUST BE A FINANCIAL MEMBER TO VOTE AND NOMINATE.
